Hey friends, family, and fellow bloggers...got a huge favor to ask of you. As most of you know, this summer a few friends and I are taking a road trip to LA to beach bum and see BSB in concert. woohoo! Well we started to actually map out and plan our route, stops, etc. and need some advice from anyone who has been to Vegas, LA, or on a road trip. Do you have some awesome tips? We know most likely things aren't going to go perfect, and with my record, we will be lost quite frequently, but it is always better to have a plan, right?
Here is a VERY rough idea of what we are doing so far. Any input would be great, let us know if we have the right idea or if we are way off with times and such. Also ideas on what sights to see would be awesome too. Anything marked DTBD (Details To Be Determined) is open for sight seeing suggestions.
Tuesday, June 28
10:00am leave Salt Lake City to Las Vegas
Roughly 8 hours with stops plus hour time change
5:00pm arrival in Las Vegas
North/Center part of the strip.
(Venetian Gondola ride, Bellagio fountains, ???)DTBD
Wednesday, June 29
Vegas indoor sights
(Bellagio gardens, Shops in Caesars, ???) DTBD
South part of strip
(M&M World, Coke Factory, ???) DTBD
Hotel pool
Thursday, June 30
9:00am Leave Vegas to Manhattan Beach, CA
Roughly 7 hours with stops and LA traffic
4:00pm arrival at beach house in Manhattan Beach
Friday, July 1
6:00am leave for Hollywood
Roughly 2 hours with traffic
8:00am Hollywood sights
(Chinese theatre, Kodak theatre, walk of fame, Hollywood sign) DTBD
12:00pm - 1:00pm Lunch in Hollywood
1:30pm leave for Rodeo drive
Roughly 30 min with traffic
2:00pm Rodeo Drive and surrounding sights DTBD
4:30pm leave for Staples Center
Roughly 1 1/2 hour drive with traffic with chance of rush hour
6:00pm Grab quick dinner and park
7:00pm BSB Concert!
Saturday, July 2
Beach bum for the day Manhattan Beach

Monday, July 4
10:00am Leave Manhattan Beach to Santa Monica Pier
roughly 1 hour drive
11:00am arrival at Santa Monica Pier

Boating in St. George

Head back to SLC

in vegas the bellagio water show is so cool! one of my favorite things there. the top of the stratosphere is real neat too. i haven't done the rides but they look pretty scary. the new yowk new york rollercoaster is alright but the nascar one is fun! it's short but a rush. treasure island does a cool pirate show and the inside of alll the hotels are way cool. i don't know much about LA...and i know we talked a little bit about it last summer at that lunch, and i don't want it to sound like i'm just inviting myself but if it's okay with you guys i still want to come hang out with you guys for part of it! haha. hope my small amount of info helps some.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people talk about the water show, sounds like we will definately need to hit that up. I will need to check with my roommate becasue it is her aunt's beach house we are using, but yeah you are welcome to meet up with us!
